OVERHANG 3' front, 4' back, requires flags, overhang is allowed as long as it does not exceed the legal length

EXEMPTIONS
Transporting poles, logs, timbers or metal in a case in which the load is not readily divisible and such overhang does not interfere with steering the vehicle or if the vehicle is an emergency fire fighting vehicle. A vehicle transporting loose hay or fodder may be driven on the ways of this state when the overall width including load is more than 8'6" provided the excess over 8'6" is solely due to the loose hay or fodder

PERMITS VALID FOR:
Single trip permits are valid for five (5) travel days (excluding weekends and holidays) going through with return 10 days.

OPERATING TIME
One-half hour before sunrise to one-half hour after sunset, vehicles which are overweight only shall not be restricted to the time of travel.

WEEKEND TRAVEL
No weekend travel for over dimensional loads.

DIVISIBLE LOADS
Loads must be reasonably reduced to legal size and/or weight.

EXCEPTIONS
Off-the-road type equipment and haulers shall carry no load except normal parts or accessories pertaining to the major item. If the load can be reasonably reduced, it must be taken off. Blades and buckets can be left on if they cannot be taken off easily. The additional size may require obtaining additional escorts.

INFORMATION NEEDED TO ORDER A WIDE LOAD, OVERSIZE AND HEAVY HAUL PERMIT
Applicant's name and address, load description, vehicle description, tractor unit, trailer license, trailer length, overall dimensions, total number of axles, overhang front and rear, gross weight, origin and destination routes.

Restricted Travel
Travel through the city of Manchester is restricted during the hours of 7:00 am - 9:00 am and 3:00 p.m - 6:00 p.m.

A vehicle or combination of vehicles shall not be driven or moved over any bridge or other structure in any way is the weight of such vehicle or combination of vehicles and load is greater than the capacity of the structure as shown by a sign on the right side of or overhead on the structure.

Permits may be suspended during specific periods on certain roads when loads exceed posted capacities imposed because of emergencies of frost, winter thaws or excessive rainy periods. Permits are void during periods of slippery pavement conditions or inclement weather creating hazardous driving conditions.

SPRING WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS
Weights are limited to 20,000 lbs gross axle weight or the cumulative width in inches of all tires contacting the road surface multiplied by 300 lbs or whichever weight is less.

Overweight, Oversized & Wide Load Super Loads
Loads of 150,000 lbs go to the review will need a diagram showing number of axles, tires, spacings, tire width and anticipated axle weights. Allow five to ten days for processing.
