Heavy Haul Bid Conditions


BIDS AND QUOTES
All quotations are subject to availability of equipment and personnel, technical information, drawings, and details, including center of gravity and support points etc. All work other than OTR shipments are based on normal 10-hour working days Mon.- Fri. between 7:00am ­ 6:00pm (1hr break ) in which our crew can work undisturbed. Quotations are subject to advance permit approvals by all States and Governmental agencies en route. Requirements resulting from any route/bridge/utility surveys may alter cost of estimates. Costs incurred in the customer/shipper authorized application for permit pre-approval. Including but not limited to route/bridge/utility surveys will be payable by the customer/shipper, regardless as to whether the permits are ultimately approved or denied.

PRICING
Price(s) indicated include all equipment, labor, and 3rd party services required for the work at time of quote with information available, and is based upon weights and dimensions supplied by customer.

ROUTE IMPROVEMENT AND CLEARANCES
In this proposal there are no provisions for route improvement. It is also based on loading at, and delivering to the nearest point(s) of reasonable accessibility, to be determined by L.G.I. "In-plant" or "on-site" clearances, and sufficient compaction to be the responsibility of the shipper and receiver. Inadvertent damage to surrounding property at the origin or destination due to the movement of this equipment is at risk of the shipper. Obstacles at origin and destination may include curbing, railroad tracks, fencing, etc. Removal, renovation, and/or replacement if required, to be the responsibility of the shipper and/or consignee.

TRANSPORT POSITION
Cargo to be loaded in most advantageous transport position to be determined by L.G.I. Interpretation of shipper's blueprints is the responsibility of shipper's personnel, if loading position is critical.

LOADING AND UNLOADING
Loading and unloading to be responsibility of others unless specifically quoted in our price. Loading and unloading includes the use of lifting equipment on site for assembly or disassembly of our having equipment. Certain specific trailers can "self-load" and/or "self off-load," provided all necessary arrangements and clearances are provided by customer.

TARP CHARGES
This proposal does not include charges for tarps. If tarps are required, this service is provided at extra cost which pay for tarp service only, not tarp purchase. Tarps not returned to L.G.I. in good condition will be invoiced to the undersigned customer at full, new replacement cost. Custom, special, or out of stock tarps will be invoiced at cost plus 15%.

SADDLES, CRIBBING, BLOCKING, LIFTIN EYES, TRUNNIONS, AND JACKING/SUPPORT POINTS
All suitable shipping saddles, cribbing, blocking, lifting eyes, trunnions, and jacking/support points to be the responsibility of the shipper/customer unless otherwise specified.

DOCK EXPENSES, WHARFAGE, TERMINAL AND STEVEDORING CHARGES
Charges relating to dock expenses, wharfage, terminal, stevedoring charges, etc. are the responsibility of the shipper.

PERMITS AND CLEARANCE
Except as otherwise specified, permits, clearances, licenses, certifications and other applicable governing authority requirements and inspections are not included in the bid price. Customer shall furnish or compensate L.G.I. for the acquisition and cost of any documentations, bonds, security or deposits required to permit performance of the work.

DELAYS DUE TO WEATHER, ACTS OF GOD, STRIKES, PERMIT RESTRICTIONS
Work delays due to weather, acts of God, strikes, permit restrictions or other than by L.G.I. personnel are at the risk and expense of the shipper, including escort, barge, and subcontractor charges and expired permits at cost plus 15%. L.G.I. will not be responsible for any direct or indirect costs incurred due to shipping delays whether caused or not caused by its personnel.

CONTRACT CARRIERS
Customer agrees to abide by the terms and conditions of individual railroad, barge, ocean carriers, and other transportation and rigging/lifting companies when services are contracted for customer as an integrated multi-modal movement.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY, DECLARED VALUE AND INSURED VALUE
L.G.I. approved contractors maintain limits of liabilities for all shipments to a maximum amount of $1,000,000 or actual value of each piece which may have been lost or damaged, whichever is less. L.G.I. shall have no liability for damaged or destroyed goods which are improperly wrapped or packaged or which the nature of said goods were misrepresented to L.G.I. This limitation applies to all shipments unless you declare a higher value and applicable charges are paid thereon.

L.G.I. allows all shippers the opportunity to obtain a higher level of limits of liability upon payment of an increased rate. If you desire quotes for an increased limitation of liability, please so advise L.G.I. prior to the shipment being placed into the possession of L.G.I. A higher liability rate will be obtained and quoted to you.

DIRECT DISCHARGE CHARGES
Pricing does not provide for direct discharge from ship to truck, or F.A.S. service truck-to-ship.

QUOTES, PAYMENT TERMS, AND OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Unless stated otherwise, L.G.I.'s quotations are valid for 45 (forty-five) days from the date of issuance and are subject to route and/or permit restrictions a time of accrual movement, which can affect pricing and/or loading and delivery schedule.

Standard project payment terms are 10% of project budget before work begins. 80% paid when loaded and secured. Remainder of balance is to be paid when cargo arrives at destination. Standard payment is wire transfer or cashiers check. None payment will result in detention charges as well as storage and/or redelivery fees.

Free time of 2 (two) hours per load will be allowed for in this quotation for loading, same for unloading. Detention charges will accrue after this free time has expired.

Advance notice of up to 45 (forty-five) days may be needed to coordinate equipment availability and permit approval.

Availability to simultaneously transport more than one item requiring similar equipment is not necessarily indicated.

Activities related to this movement will begin upon receipt of an authorized written purchase order. All terms and conditions not stated in this bid quote are to be determined by the tariff of L.G.I.

NO HAZARDOUS MATERIALS
Unless stated in writing to the contrary, in advance of shipping, customer certifies that no portion, component, or content of this cargo qualifies as Hazardous Material by any definition of same as per Federal, State and/ or local law.

NON-DISCLOSURE
L.G.I. offers this quote in good faith and the data, plant processes and other information provided herein is considered and is not to be disclosed to third parties without the express permission of L.G.I.
