PERMITS VALID FOR:
Single trip permits are valid for one trip (7 travel days).

OPERATING TIME
One-half hour before sunrise to one-half hour after sunset seven days a week

WEEKEND TRAVEL
Movement permitted 365 days a year, no restrictions for overweight only loads

DIVISIBLE LOADS
Loads must be reduced to smallest form, only one article may be transported when more than one would cause the load to be over width, overweight or over length, all articles or units shall be loaded in such a manner that the least dimension becomes the width.

EXCEPTIONS
Blades, buckets, counterweights, etc must be removed, if overweight it must be hauled on a separate truck.

INFORMATION NEEDED TO ORDER A WIDE LOAD, OVERSIZE AND HEAVY HAUL PERMITS:
Name and address of applicant, KCC number, KS fuel number, load description, insurance information (insurance company, liability amount, policy number0, vehicle description, (tractor unit number, year and make, serial number, license number), trailer information (year and make, license number, trailer length), overall dimensions, width, length, height, gross weight, total number of axles, axle spacing, overhang (front and rear), registered weight, origin, destination and routes.

ESCORTS FOR WIDELOAD AND OVERSIZED SHIPPING
KS permits will indicate escort requirements if needed Movers of O/O loads are expected to know what is required

When Escorts are Needed # Escorts
On Highways Less than 4 Lanes:
Width more than 14' 2 (Front & Rear)
The rear escort may be eliminated if a warning light is attached to the top of the towing vehicle and to the rear of each load and is mounted no less than two feet or more than eight feet above the surface of the road.
On 4-Lane Highway if mobile home has:
An 8" amber flashing light attached to the top of the power unit and another at the top rear of the mobile home to be towed.
On All Highways:
Mobile Homes over 12'6" wide 2 (Front & Rear)
Super Loads 1 Rear
Width over 16'6" or height over 18', including but not restricted to houses, barns, sheds, granaries and storage tanks 2 (Front & Rear)
On KS Turnpike: Width over 14'
All escorts shall be certified in Kansas

Restricted Travel
No truck operating under a special permit shall follow within 300' of another vehicle except when overtaking and passing, travel restricted during adverse weather. Turnpike restrictions: No over height vehicles allowed on the turnpike, single-20,000 lbs tandem- 34,000 lbs, Tridum 42,000 lbs, quad-50,000 lbs and gross weight of 120,000 lbs, load over 16' wide or 14' high not permitted. Rocky Mountain doubles, turnpike doubles and triples are allowed on turnpike up to 119' long, 316-682-4537.

SPRING WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS
No restrictions

Overweight, Oversized & Wideload SuperLoads
Anything that exceeds the following requires a bridge analysis: 18' high, 16'6" wide, and 126' long or 150,000 lbs, 785-271-3231
Applications for super loads shall be submitted at least 10 days prior to the desired date of movement
