PERMITS VALID FOR:
Single trip permits are valid for fifteen (15) consecutive days.

OPERATING TIME
One-half hour before sunrise to one-half hour after sunset, Monday through Friday and until noon on Saturday .

WEEKEND TRAVEL
Loads 85' long, 10' wide, 13'6" high and a weight of 108,000 lbs - 120,000 lbs will be allowed continuous travel seven days a week. Loads over 85' to 110' long, over 10' to 14'4" wide, over 13'6" to 15' high and a weight of 108,000 lbs - 120,000 lbs may travel one-half hour before sunrise until 12:00 noon on Saturday , no Sunday travel. Loads overweight only can travel 24 hours, 7 days a week.

DIVISIBLE LOADS
Loads must be reduced to the lowest possible form, divisible loads are allowed on toll road with 15 mile access. May obtain a permit for use on extra heavy duty highways Permits will be issued to haul steel coils in a limited area and with a specific trailer configuration

EXCEPTIONS
Blades, buckets, etc must be hauled separately, crated machinery and/or parts must be reduced if the crate adds any dimension to the load, crated loads.

INFORMATION NEEDED TO ORDER A WIDE LOAD, OVERSIZE AND HEAVY HAUL PERMIT
Tractor license and serial number, overall dimensions, axle weights, gross weight, number of tires, tire size, axle spacing, load description, origin, destination, routes and mileage. Must have INCR # (Indiana Certificate of Responsibility).

Height over 17' , must provide a letter from utility companies stating their knowledge of move and approval to disturb aerial lines across the route. If no aerial line exists, must have a statement that entire route has been checked and no utilities are affected.

The permitted vehicles are not to be operated during the existence of hazardous, weather, road and traffic conditions, nor shall any movement proceed when visibility is less than 500'. Oversize movement shall not be operated at any time when wind velocity exceeds 25 m.p.h.

SPRING WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS
No specific laws, but Indiana reserves the right to post any road during spring frost

Super Loads, Overweight, Oversized, Wide Load
Super loads are considered loads over 16' wide, 15' high, 110' long and 120,000 lbs :

Companies will be required to submit one original M-233 form with the permit application
Permits will be issued via the telephone, the company will receive the permit number, fee expiration date and special provisions in that manner. Companies will receive special provisions sheets, a copy of which must be attached to the permit that will be held in the truck. Company will type the numbers of the provisions that apply in the Special Provisions box on their copy of the permit. Route survey is no longer required for all movements, it may be required upon specific request. Traffic control letter is only required if the application has a slow down on an Interstate, which will require police escort. 24 hour notice no longer required, the company must notify INDOT that the movement is taking place prior to movement. Companies may fax changes on super load applications to the Permit Section. Drawings of the load are only required of the load exceeds 17' in height. Allow two weeks for processing applications.
