Truck Tonnage Increases 2 Percent from November 

The American Trucking Association reported that the truck tonnage index increased 2 percent in December compared to November. This marked the first positive year-to-year comparison in more than a year. Truck tonnage is up 9 percent since its low point in April 2009. 
 
Truck tonnage jumped 6.6 percent in December from the same month in 2008, the first year-over-year increase in 15 months, American Trucking Associations said late Monday. 

Truck Tonnage Rises Again, Gaining 5.7% in January 

U.S. truck tonnage rose 5.7% in January from the same month last year, the second straight year-over-year increase following more than a year of comparable declines, American Trucking Associations said late Wednesday.
