Loads over 14’ wide, 150’ long or 16’6 high must supply exact routes.

PERMITS VALID FOR:
Single trip permits are valid for three (3) days, but permit tee may request more time if needed if travel exceeds 500 miles or weather related issues.

OPERATING TIME
One-half hour before sunrise to one-half hour after sunset.

WEEKEND TRAVEL
Travel is permitted Monday through Saturday daylight hours. Vehicles not exceeding 10’ wide, 16’ high, 85’ long, legal overhang may travel Monday through Saturday daylight hours only.

DIVISIBLE LOADS
Permits will not be issued. Must remove all practical parts such as counterweights, buckets, blades, yokes, C-frames, ripper plates and booms.

EXCEPTIONS
Hay bales may be loaded side by side not to exceed 10’ wide. Travel during daylight hours only.
Construction equipment may be hauled intact if not traveling farther than 25 miles.
Tanks/pipe may be stacked; cannot exceed 15’ high, 10’ wide. Must be legal length and legal weight.

INFORMATION NEEDED TO ORDER A WIDELOAD, OVERSIZE AND HEAVY HAUL PERMITS:
Company name, address, license and state for both tractor and trailer, including make, model, number of axles, load description make and model, date of move, origin, destination, routes, axle spacings, axle weights, tire width, tire loadings, gross weight and overall dimensions.

Restricted Travel

From October 1 through April 15, weekend and holiday restrictions do not apply from Fairbanks north on the Steese, Elliot and Dalton Highways.

No movement for oversize load 7:00 – 8:00 A.M. and 4:30 – 6:00 P.M. Monday through Friday in Anchorage, Fairbanks, and Juneau urban areas. No movement 6:00-8:00 A.M., 11:30 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. and 4:00-7:00 P.M. in Anchorage urban areas north to Palmer and Wasilla over 14’ wide.

Kitchikan: no movement 7:00 A.M. – 8:00 A.M., 12 noon – 1:00 P.M. and 4:30 – 6:00 P.M.

Palmer/Wasilla Area: no movement 6:00 A.M. – 8:00 A.M., 11:30 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. and 4:40 – 6:00 P.M. when over 14’ wide or slow moving vehicles traveling slower than 25 mph.

SPRING WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS may occur on major routes or south central and interior of Alaska from mid-March through mid-June.
