PERMITS VALID FOR:
Single trip permits are valid for five (5) consecutive days.

OPERATING TIME
One-half hour before sunrise to one-half hour after sunset.

WEEKEND TRAVEL
Travel permitted Saturday all day, no Sunday travel.

DIVISIBLE LOADS
Permits are not issued for divisible loads. Anything that can be removed to reduce the weight is
required to be removed. Bulldozer blades and similar construction equipment are excluded.

EXCEPTIONS
When a blade protrudes beyond the transporting vehicle, bulldozers, front-end loaders and similar equipment shall be loaded with the rear of the machine facing the front. Buckets, counter- weights must be removed and transported on a separate vehicle.

INFORMATION NEEDED TO ORDER A WIDELOAD, OVERSIZE AND HEAVY HAUL PERMITS:
Applicant’s name and address, load description, vehicle description, tractor unit, trailer license, trailer length, overall dimensions, total number of axles, overhang front and rear, gross weight, origin and destination routes.

Restricted Travel

Loads 120’ to 150’ in length are restricted from 9:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M. Monday through Friday. The Permitted vehicle or combination of vehicles and loads shall not travel in foggy weather, snow, ice or any other time when there is not sufficient light to render clearly discernable persons and vehicles on the highway at a distance of 500’.

No restrictions.

Overweight, Oversized & Wideload SuperLoads

Super loads are defined as a load that is greater than one of these dimensions: 16’ wide, 16” high, 150’ long and over 180,000 pounds. In order for this office to consider pre-approval we must have the following items:
A letter of request detailing all information that would attempt to justify a permit, such as but not limited to reasons why the product could not be reduced or shipped by other modes of transportation such as rail or barge.
An Axle weight and spacing diagram for loads with weight.
A certified scale ticket for loads with weight.
A detailed ship drawing clearly showing all dimensions or a set of plans on the product.
A detailed route survey for loads in excess of 16’ ft wide & 16’ ft high locating all points of contact and means of avoiding such contact points.
Front and rear police escort confirmation for loads in excess of 16’ ft wide or high.
Utility notification for loads over 17’ ft high. (Power Company, Cable Company,
Telephone Company and Traffic signal owners.
City or County Engineers notification when traveling city or county roads.
Additional insurance requirements over 150,000 lbs.
